Default GPS Laptimer

Anyone use a GPS laptimer?

If so, which one and do you have photos of it installed?

Know someone else that uses that one too and speaks VERY highly of it. I am using the XT Racing Ultra Lap timer (non-GPS)... maybe someday I'll bump up to a GPS, but for now, someone always seems to have an XT beacon on the wall at the track... and if not, I got one I can hang too. But the GPS units can certainly provide you a lot more output when combined w/some software to see all the other data they obtain too.

I'm just back from the Hungaroring and the Stealth was excellent, with the battery pack we were able to move it from bike to bike for everyone to have a play. Switch it on and ride, simples!

Does the Stealth work with a Mac, or just pc?

If you want to accurate the sample rate must be 10Hz at least.

I have the XT Racing GPX Pro. It worked great on my Gixxer1K. I ended getting the antenna for the S1krr that I put on the tail. I tried to wire in the gear position and TPS, but the voltage is too low, and I ran out of time to hook the tach up. So, it's hardwired to power on with the key. It has a battery, and you can set up different vehicles in it. It's fun to look at you laps and see corner speed, etc. You can run through your laps right after you finish a session. It does have a 3 axis accelerometer. It has good software that you can overlay one lap on top of another and look at braking and acceleration. It gives you an optimum lap time for each session--it takes all the best parts of all your laps and tells you what you are capable of running.

All that being said, if you have an Android cell phone, you can buy a $10 app, and a $30 bluetooth GPS that will do close to the same. They don't make an app for the iPhone (or apple won't support it). My buddy put the phone in his pocket on the his leathers, and the GPS on his tail and he could pretty much do every from his cell phone I was doing on my GPX Pro. It will even send you lap times to facebook or twitter--I don't know which (I don't use either).

I paid $650 for the unit and $70 for an antenna. If anyone knows how to make the gear position sensor and TPS work, please let me know.....
