Default OEM Contisport attack tires for track day?

Are these tires okay for track day?

Listening to a buddy at work, who said they suck?

Yes. I've ridden both Sport Attacks and Road Attacks at track days. Go up to your buddy and say "No, YOU suck!". That'll teach him.

I think it actually gets worse.

Kevin, you should post that picture of your tire from the track day. The one you posted on the other forum.

I rode the OEM tyres on track and they were excellent. A fair bit harder than what I am used to and I wasn't pushing them as hard as I would now, but they are well up to the task.

Exactly... the only difference between 40+ and being under 30... is the "keeping up" part just got more expensive (but usually more fun too )

This one?

This is a Conti *Road* Attack, used at a track day on my ZX-14. The rear got just a little greasy in the late sessions, but the front was fine. Nice pattern, picked up some rubber, worked just great. Stuck well enough to drag the fairing...

That is indeed the one.

Do you remember what pressure you were running?
