Unhappy WSBK - the BMW's not doing so great

I'm a bit dissapointed with the BM's performance during Sundays SBK at Assen! Rather dissapointed with all their performances thus far. Last year I thought its mainly the riders problems, but this year with Haslem in the seat, a podium should have come by now. Is BMW having so many problems? It seems like tyre choices or tyre wear is still a main concern!?

BMW are being stubborn with the traction control, rather than going for a 3rd party solution like everyone else, with shared data for different tracks and lots of setups already available, they're plugging on with using their own system and are really struggling as it's a bit of a bitch to work with.

Haslam has been in the podium already this season hasn't he? I think they are definately making progress though.

As said above...BMW need to sort out its race electronics package, then it will start wining races for sure.

BMW are still getting far better results than Kawasaki though

Not for long. The new ZX-10r seems to be nipping on the BMW heels at the moment and this is only the 3rd series of the race. If BMW doesnt do something fast Kawasaki will pass them in points.

Hardly!! Have you seen the last place green bikes every race? Don't get me wrong, Paul Bird knows how to build a damn fast Ninja and I firmly believe Lascorz and maybe Sykes could ride it but the things seem to keep popping motors?

I wonder if I was being to hard on Corser. Accusing him of pedaling that bike backward like nobody else...nah.

They are still having issues for sure. Hope they get it squared away. BMW did look in the FIM Superstock Race.

Man, you guys are hard on a manufacturer. Only the second year and you aren't satisfied with consistant up front runnings? It's very hard to come out and beat everyone who's been doing this for years.

BMW is sitting in 5th place over all in one of the toughest starting grids in the world!

You're talking about the fastest riders in the world, at that level everything needs to click to get a podium ,bike, rider, team orders, tires compund, suspention setup,tc and on and on and on! BMW is doing good! Look at this year compared to last, last year Troy would start out STRONG and lose ground as the race went on he is at least consistent now!

Actually this is their third season. In both 2009 and 2010, they ranked 6th out of seven in the manfacturer's standings and this year they've moved up one position to 5th so far with one podium (3rd) out of six races. I would hardly characterize this as "running consistently up front". It's not impossible to be very competitive within a season or two - Aprilia won the championship in their 2nd season in WSBK with a new team and a new bike.

They're doing..... Okay. Not bad, not good, but Okay and so far, slightly improved, although I'd attribute their improvement more to Haslam than the bike and its way too early to know if the improvement is a real trend or just the normal noise that occurs with a mediocre team. They appear a LONG way from being a championship contender.
