Lap timer location

I bought an XT Racing lap timer. Looks like the best place to velcro it to is the front top of the gas tank. Any other suggestions?

Be careful your arms don't block the beam from the trackside beacon if you mount it on the tank. I've used a mini-lap timer from XT and mounted it on the tail section. I start before going on track and turn it off back in the pits. I'm going to upgrade to a GPS unit from Starlane this season and hope it works as advertised. On order but it's early in the Stealth GPS-3 sales life and I think there's only been one stateside shipment so far.

I just ordered the fork-tube mount from XT Racing:

The S1KRR has 55mm fork tubes.

I just velcrod the receiver to front of the nose fairing.
