Before I put my street plastics back on in frustration for an upcoming trackday on Monday, has anyone installed Carbonin fairings on the 2015+ bike with the (Inox) brackets? Of course there were no instructions from them or anywhere that I could find on the interwebz.
What seems to be unclear?
Most aftermarket track bodywork won't mount identically to OEM, BUT most of the time, they will at least have some/enough direct mounting points that are the same as the OEM, with which you can begin to mock fit, and "teach" yourself the rest of the way.:wink2:
Not my first rodeo — I know that these wouldn't fit like the OEM. :grin2:
The problem is I'm not sure how the brackets fit, why there are additional Dzus plates that aren't already attached (I cheated and had Carbonin install them) as well as why the holes drilled in the fairings are too small for the Dzus bolts. I'm fine with Dremeling holes out, but since most of the work was done, I'm just wondering if I missed something here. I love to work and understand how to take apart and put the bike back together, but carbon fiber isn't something that I want to experiment on.
Sounds like they predrilled pilot holes and you need to finish the job. Start counting the amount of fasteners to plate ratio and get it done. :grin2:
