Default Track day requirements for street bike

A couple questions re: track days, 1.) What typically is required to run a street bike (2012 S1000RR) at a track day, I mean can you just run it in street setup? If not what are the typical saftey/track requirements? 2.) Can anyone supply me any track day locations in Florida? Does Daytona do track days? (I actually got to turn some practice laps there on a friends Yamaha TZ-250 back in the day, but that was a long time ago).

In UK you can turn up on a fully standard road legal bike and ride........What protection you put on it is up to you. Leathers 1 piece or 2 piece fully zipped.

As mentioned, most require you to have the usual stuff. Helmet, gloves, boots, 1 or 2-piece zip together suit. Leather or Kevlar are ok with most.

As for the bike some will ask you to safety wire or put a dab of silicone on the old drain plug. Other than that, just tape up the headlights, tail light, blinkers and mirrors. Simple duct tape or painters tape is all you need.

Unplug the headlight bulb for your own good. It can sometimes melt the headlight lense when the beam is obstructed.

Thanks man...appreciate pointing me in the right direction. I see Fl. has 3 road race tracks that do track days and racing schools...(Hmmm, trailer, spare wheels/tires, etc, etc, etc...this could get expensive..haha)
