Default new from SoCal

whats up guys, im from los angeles. i currently ride a kawi zx9r and im totally motivated and working towards the new bmw s1000rr bike by the end of the year. i thought i'd join this forum ahead of time so i can see and read what people have to say about that bike that actually own the bike.. instead of just hear-say and everyone always telling you to get a gixxer or yamaha... how do you guys like this bike? im gonna be browsing around the forums threads for a bit. any input or selling points please do tell.. thanks guys.. in the back of my head the only downside i see to having this bike would be the aftermarket parts and replacement parts costing a bunch.. but this theory may be prejudice based on what i've seen so far about bmw's cars.. do dealerships do test rides?

Im from just north of Santa Barbra and yes, BMW motorcycle dealerships will do test rides, if you've got an impecable riding history. hah it took a bit of convincing the manager to let me ride before I bought it, being 21 and having several speeding tickets on my resume. otherwise ive put around 8,000 miles on mine and she was the best decision ive ever made. its an unbelievable feeling keeping up with the busas when the road opens up, and yet still toying near the 600 jap bikes in the twisties.. So far the 6000 mile service was supposed to run just over $400 bucks, but with changing the oil, airfilter, and brake fluid myself they charged around $135 for resetting the maintanance interval timer, and whatever inspection that was required for the warrenty.
So as for owning two CBR600RRs and putting over 5000 miles on two dif 1000cc bikes this S1000rr really is as good if not better than what people say about it.
Im still in love to say the least.. lol

I'm also for Los Angeles, and I own 2 other bikes currently besides my S1KRR, I love the way it handles and rides. It really is a great bike that just responds to every move you do. I am very happy with it and love riding it as much as I get a chance to. Once you ride one you'll know what I and everyone here is talking about when they say it is a must have type of a bike. The Honda of Hollywood in LA on Santa Monica is a authorized BMW dealer and they have a bike there you can test ride. If you go down to test it out ask for a guy by the name of Khoren. Good luck and hope to hear you actually got one.

Fellow SoCal S1000r riders? Looking for other believers to ride with? Track days at Autoclub speedway with Fasttrack Riders. I'm signed up for 6 days coming up seeing if anyone else rides there or wants to? Malibu canyon rides? Tired of riding solo. Gets old after awhile...

If you want a kick ass bike that backs those words up get a S-1000rr .. It does feel like a bad ass going out for a fight .

Whats up. I'm in Burbank. Have had my S1000 for about 8 months now. I rode an 06 R1 for a long time. Thought it was awsome until I got the S1000... Get it, you will not be sorry. I bought my bike from Long Beach BMW. I know they have a few demo bikes and will let you test ride them. Check them out....

I'm in Manhattan Beach. Don't ride street but do ride all socaltrackdays.com events at Chuckwalla and also ride in the CVMA race series there. Give me a shout if you ever come out for either.

I'm in San Diego with my second s1000rr. (1st one stolen out of my parking garage). I know the back country here very well but would like some anyone else that rides in the area.
