Where to from Hattares NC?

Hi, I will be windsuring in Hatteras the last week of April. I will bring the bike with me (in case there is no wind) but was unsure if there was anywhere to ride. I know the island has nothing but sand so planned on heading back off the island to find somewhere nice to ride. Can anyone recommend somewhere I could go if I wanted to take a 4-5 hour (or less) ride. I have looked at google maps but can't really see anything interesting. I even looked for area race tracks thinking I could do a track day, but didn't see anything.
