Default * UPDATED Pictures from Deals Gap 5/14/10- 5/16/10*

Just wondering if anybody, or groups are planning any rides to deals gap this spring or summer? Here in Louisville KY ", there's a site called Louisville-sportbikes.com. & we have a big group going down for the weekend of May 14-16. It would be nice to have more S1 show up or maybe plan a S1 weekend down there!! This will be my first time to the Gap, I've been tring to get down there for the last 10 years!! Post up if you would like to me up down there that weekend, or plan sumthing for later on this summer....

*Update*
had a blast down at deals gap this passed weekend, we rode down from Lou. KY it was about 400 miles down the gap, had to fill up a few times. had no issues out of the bikes (had two green S1 on the trip!) The bikes handle great! ran the gap in sport mode. Thoses attack rearset felt wonderful! thanks again TJ The ride home..... well lets just say the first 200 miles was dry! the last 200! on the hwy in lite to heavy rain all the way home... I did make the TC kick in once, I was keeping up with a Lexus, and was in the middle lane of a 3 lane hwy. I open the throttle up, and got over in the left lane when crossing into the next lane there was tar strips in between the lane and the rear tire broke loose from a sec... then it strighted back out and I was in it again! just had to get out of it the next time I changed lanes we rode about 850 miles in 3 days. heres sum pics!

Default Gap closed.

The local newpaper reported that there was a rock slide and the road is closed on the TENN sde. The money to repair the road has been delayed for some unknown reason by the governer. No date on when but it could be a while??? Check back before going. But there are other great roads in that area and south. BobL.

Yeah we heard about that rockslide, were hoping they get it open b4 we go, but if not there ways around the section that is closed... Thxs for the heads up!! the delay prob comes from the amont crashes and volume of people that pack in to ride that road... Prob just a way to try and keep people from coming down there...?

I would definitely be able to attend an S1000 gathering at the Gap. The road is open from 8am to 8pm until they get things cleaned up.

dealsgap.com, Deals Gap, NC information. The Dragon, US129, Great Smoky Mountains. The Dragon at Deals Gap.

There are plenty of other great roads like 28 to Franklin, Blood mountain and the cherohala skyway. I hope to get out to the gap a few times this year if I can get the time off.

I will keep an eye on this thread and join if I can or just post when I am heading out to see if anyone can join

I was there too last weekend but I was on my R1200S red and silver. The Ducati MS fourm was that Fontana village.
Seen your S1kR and rear sets, very nice. I looked them over at the cafe/gas station. Are they adjustable lower that stock? I've got 6'-3" of leg. BobL.
