Default POLL: Forum Moderation - Good/Bad/etc.

For the good of the Forum and feedback to me and the other moderators on the site, I thought I'd provide a thread to respond to in regards to your thoughts/opinion on how the site is Moderated. This is a public poll so your vote (and who voted) can be viewed by others. This is not intended to be a place to go to say who you believe should be banned or for that matter, any specifics on any user. If it turns into that, this thread will magically disappear

What I'm looking for is first: On the poll/scale above, how do you think the day to day moderation goes. And then if you have specific thoughts on how to better the site relative to moderating please post your thoughts. Try and be constructive, I have thick skin as do the other moderators, so candor should not be an issue. If there are things you like, that feedback is welcome too.

This poll/feedback area is ONLY intended for your thoughts/opinions on the Moderators and/or Moderation of the Site. It is not intended for the overall structure, memberships, etc. as those are in the control of the owners (admins) of the site. This should pertain just to the Moderation Activities on the site.

This may be a very bad idea .... but I generally like to give folks that work for me feedback (and vise-a-versa) and I appreciate feedback from those that I work for too - I think that level of open communication promotes a healthier environment for all that participate.

This the friendliest forum I have ever belonged to. I would have to say I am very surprised. Thanks for all of the great work.

d@mn you beat me to it.

More like power trippin puke stain bully Koward. That 1 mod has completely ruined that entire board with the way he constantly picks fights, bullies with and pushes people around, then Bans them, while all the other mods do NOTHING at all about him.

Forum MOD here is real great! I say that even though he has sent me a few (more than 2) PM's to shut up. See people, you probably didn't believe 1000RR was working behnd the scences, but still gets compliments from me. Thats how its done and he still gets respect.

BEST MOD (1000RR here) on any forum I regulary visit, even when being told to shut the F up by him.

I agree. As an Admin, Donnie is doing the kind of job I would hope others would provide if they had the opportunity. He seems tolerant enough of some subjects in public to let both sides discuss and even piss a little, but makes sure it stops when out of hand. He is also helpful as a contributor of his own ideas and experiences w/o the unnecessary appearance of needing to be more "expert" than others.

I just wish he would go out and ride more so he's not the first to respond to posts.

In my opinion the moderation is too obvious and over done.

Ban some of the the obvious trolls and then very rarely have to intervene. There are people on here that are only here to pee people off and need dealing with.

Otherwise - Let the peasants fight, I say.

Good mix of members, otherwise

I remember when this forum first started & Stu was looking for moderators. A couple of people i know became mods when there were less than 5 threads in the entire forum & gave up for various reasons such as other obligations!

The forum has come a long way in just over a year & comes up on countless search engines. Its doing much better thus far that many forums i know in the same period that are huge today!

The only explanation i have is whatever the mods & admin are doing, carry on doing it!

It's very polite here. People continually ask the same question over and over, re-post like they didn't see the first one on the front page, and thread jack like it's going out of style, and it rarely provokes anyone. The moderators, from what I have seen, have not gotten in the middle. There have been a few shouting matches that I expected might get a rise out of a some, but nothing too serious, so I'm wondering if the moderators have been really battle tested. LOL

Honestly, I hope they don't.
