Default What's up with that?

What's going on with people these days? Too lazy to use "search"? And what admins are doing? Every day same questions by different users and new thread... Don't get me wrong, it's a nice board and people here are nice knowledgable, but some either REALLY REALLY lazy to search either think they are the only ones/the first ones with this/that question... I don't mind people asking, I've asked alot myself, but I'm searching first, maybe my question has been answere... And admins... Really??? do u guys even have any IT experience? or u just have been given rights to delete/edit posts??? because an it person would let his/her forum and it's members to be disorganized...

The Moderating Team here on this forum does an OUTSTANDING job doing what they do for the pay the get... wait, did I say "pay they get"... strike that. They don't get paid shitt and volunteer their time to help the community of enthusiasts we have here. Some have IT backgrounds, some have race backgrounds, some have intimate BMW motorcycle knowledge and work in the field.... quite a variety in fact.

There are plenty of improvements that can be made on the site, this particular one (replying with "use the search function") just isn't at the top of the list yet. Instead, more focus on providing insight, answers, suggestions, and constructive opinions has been. Once we master that, we'll move on to the search function response.

My personal approach, instead of bitching about things that are wrong, is to try and help fix the heart of the issue or the root cause. If someone is too lazy to use the search function (and there are a number out there) and they post a question that has been asked 10 times over... my approach is... I post some links to the information I FOUND in a search they should have performed... You know what their response usually is? "I guess I could have used the search function, eh?!". That will turn in to two things. One is they appreciated not getting blasted their first or second time out by the Search Nazi's and two, next time they'll likely use the search function. In the end we changed behavior and kept the community moving in a positive direction. ...just another way of trying to achieve the same end goal

Yet you read it.
This what makes the board a live ..
Also what if at that point of a original post you did not have that part installed and now you do. So it gives you a chance to share your new thoughts, with the person that asked that "yet again" question.
By the way, there were other people that made post like you did before. Lol. Search hommie

I'm not asking admins to cruise through all topics 24/7, however admins may make some changes to make people at least read through some of the forum rules while they create their profile... And well admins are part of this board aren't they?

Well, I'm glad to know that there are some trully altruistic people out there, however they VOLUNTEERED to take certain responsibilities (no one made them right?).

Personally me, I'm doing my best to contribute to this community in any way I can, for example: paid for membership, paid for the app (funds from the app go to the developers of these forums, listed on motorcycle.com), I post any knowledge I obtain outside the forum (maybe it's not much yet, but don't want to have quantity, would prefer quality - prefer not to double post questions and reply only if I have something valuable to add)

Exactly, people need to focus on things above instead of fluding board with repeated, chewed up and spitted out questions...

I did search, but I don't think we can group a "bothered" gang and ride together...

And yes it is forum, and very well constructured and has tools to help people navigate through it...

If point on original thread doesn't have the part about the part you installed/want to install you in a wrong thread, if a thread about part you installed/thinking about installing then it will have point, HOWEVER it will only bring much more value to it if you have something valuable to add , some more "new thoughts", it only makes thread that much better, usefull, insightfull...
