Default QS issue or rare occurrence?

Was out two days ago doin some riding, came across a little boy on an 1198S. We decide to give it a roll on and open em up. I jumped down to 3rd, opened her up, hit 4th and that's it...the quickshifter didn't go any further. I had to clutch it to 5th and then QS to 6th. I was only doing about 146mph. It didn't feel like anything was stuck. Clutch hadn't been touched so it wasnt a factor, or so I didn't think.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

For the record, the other guy said he liked the LED light over my yosh fender kit LMAO

Is it possible that when putting on your rearset you may have messed something up?

No, I definitely didn't mess something up. The QS works perfectly. About the TC working, this was for a good quarter mile. I tried short shifting to play with him and make him think he had a chance. I tried a couple times with the throttle open. I tried again after closing the throttle and reopening it. After I used the clutch, everything was normal again. Idk, strange to say the least. I think this is going to justify me getting a new chain...BWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

have you changed your clutch lever or do you still have the stock one installed?

I changed out the levers to CRG's, bent the tab out to give the white button a little room to move and all. If it would have been the clutch being the reason, wouldn't it have given me problems from the get go?

Did you adjust the clutch cable while it's cold? The gap should be 1 mm or less!! That helped greatly on my!!!

These bikes are very sensitive to the clutch switch setting on the clutch lever. There is a procedure in the manual to get this right. Basically you need to bend the clutch switch tab so the switch makes up (clicks) when the lever end is 40 - 55 mm. See the image below.

I have had this problem and it was the shift lever not returning back to the center position after making a shift. Sometimes if you just shift the bike gently it happens. Factory pro makes a fix for this it's a different rate spring.
