Hi Guys,
Thought I would share this in the hope it may help someone in the future. Earlier this week I received & fitted some Akra headers that my lovely wife bought for me as a birthday present from ridersdiscount.(thanks TJ)
All went well & I removed the servo motors after a few checks to see if any faults would come up on the dash. Upon starting and allowing the bike to warm up, I gave it a few revs and noticed my tacho would sometimes hang or become stuck. Further investigating would make the shift light randomly flash, the backlighting flicker and the tacho needle doing all sorts of weird things. Also taking the bike for a test ride the quick shifter would not work while the tacho needle was stuck.
I pulled the bike apart and replugged the servos to check if maybe the electrics were doing something silly when the valves were meant to open, as it would fairly consistantly play up around 4-6lk rpm. No change so removed and put the bike back together.
Decided to call my local dealer and ask if they had come across this before. To my happy surprise the service manager said yes! They had a bike doing the same and it was bad battery terminal connection!
I had checked the battery terminals and many other electrical connections, but decided I should clean and retighten the battery terminals and all fixed!
