Default Tip over sensor help

I bought a '10 S1000RR a few weeks back. The bike has under 800 miles on it. I checked with the dealership where it was purchased originally; they said the 600 mile service was done and all service bulletins. Great!

What I need to know is whether the tip over sensor was a required recall. I should have asked the shop, but it slipped my mind. Was it? Also, can someone post a pic of the sensor as installed on the bike? The pictures in ads don't show it installed; perhaps the bike has it and I am not seeing it.

I suppose I could start the bike and drop it to see if it stops.

Thanks.

It is required so it should be installed. You would have to remove the seat. It is at the right side of the tank (below the seat) and is a small black rectangular piece about the size of a USB stick. Don't have a pick but use the search function and you should find a pic of the installed location.

If it is not zip tied in place then put one on it.
If you ever work on your bike your self, make sure it is back in place when you are done and secured (with a zip tie). It will save you a lot of headaches.

Found a link.

Use the search function. There was a recent thread which had a few photos in it. Tge drop sensor is under the rider's seat on the opposite side to the slick plug socket.

Thanks, guys. I will take a look and make sure it is installed.

The sensor is in there. However, after all the trouble of getting the seat off then back on, I had to go for a ride. Nothing like an enjoyable ride to make me remember what a great bike this is.
