Default Steering Damper Removal Help

Ok, so I know the issue of stripped screws has come up here and that stripped screw potentially being an incorrect size. Well I didn't believe it until I attempted to move my steering damper and install an Ohlins.

I have 1 damper that is already removed and the T40 fits perfectly into the screw. However, the one that is on the bike, the T40 does not even come close to inserting.

I attempted to remove the screw with the T30 and that stripped it. I considered trying to find a T35, but at this point it's pretty much done.

I was going to use a dremel and try to dremel a strip in it an use a flathead to take it out, but given the part of the damper sticking out, that's really not possible.

Anyone got any ideas. I don't have really have a ton of tools like many of your guys, but would still be open to ideas.

without the correct tools, why did you try it? Thats why stores exist. You pay once for tools, or pay always someone else to do the job for you.

P.S. Buying tools is a never ending trip...You never have enough

Yea, it's one of those things where you think you can get it and then kick yourself in the ass later.

I went and added the easy-outs to my collection, which has grown significantly in the past few months. Genius!
