Default Red warning light on after dyno run..!?

Hi guys....

One Week ago i had my s1000rr at the dyno to have the PCv install. (2weeks before that, i mount a full akra with no problems)

After dyno run, the red light (the one that Is on until you drive about 5-10km/t among with the abs light) will not turn off..

This morning i had the bike at the BMW garage, and there was a fault on front speed/abs sensor.. The fault could not be deleted! Anyone with similar problems? After dyno?

In 4 weeks’ time, the bike is going back to have the fault fixt.. The problem is I have to remount the stock exhaust with o2 sensors.. It is not possible update the software if needed.. (and bmw warranty doesn’t like aftermarket parts)

note: nice bike by the way!!

Cheers

Have you tried cycling the ABS and DTC settings? I'd assume the DTC and possibly the ABS were turned off for the Dyno run, and maybe they weren't returned to the enabled (on) position.

Good luck.

+1 If your bike is in Slick Mode, the traction control won't turn back on when you cycle the ignition. If you haven't already tried to turn it back on with the button, try taking out of slick and cycling the ignition switch.

When you take it to the dealer, why not fit the O2 sensors to your system.Assuming you have removed the cables from the exhaust valves, but left the servo's,no fault will show.
For good measure, install a zero map in the pcv.

Just plug the stock O2 sensors into their connectors. The servo errors do NOT cause faulty programming. Just take the bike in with the sensors in hand and give them to the dealer and have them plug them in. I don't think you even have to remove panels to do it.

Make sure that you can change modes and that you can change DTC on or off to be sure the button is working. See if you can get it to go out by cycling through the options--check the owner's manual on how to do it.

Could be any number of things: speed sensor, wire harness (from sensor plug in to ABS pump), ABS pump, on and on an on.

ABS pump programming in my experience does NOT do anything.

Hi Again..

I just found out what was wrong… weird that the BMW dealer did not know this…

#2 it was in that area yes.
#3 I always drive in sport or slick. So the slick is of.
#4 it’s only the cables that is off.

The owner book says that you turn off the DTC with a short push on the button (under 2sec.) so I think… What happens if I hold the button down for more than 2 sec. Maybe 5 or 10sec?
I did that, and the DTC and the red brake warning light starts to flash as they should. After a short trip up to 5-10km/t the red light is now gone! Nice!

So the dyno guy must have pushed the button for more than 2sec.

Thanks for your input… it’s nice to use this forum… thumbs up!

Cheers
