Default Lap timer Receiver that works with any Beacon

Ok guys, this topic has been thrown around a bit but has never gotten to a result.

A lot of us track day guys want to use the BMW on board lap timer function but don't want to buy the BMW receiver (on bike) and transponder (beacon – trackside). We would rather install an Ultra or Digatron or someone else's receiver that will work with any of the beacon's trackside. I have contacted both Digatron and Ultra in regards to this but both have blown me off, maybe they don't feel there is enough need, not sure.

Anyway, I got to believe that someone has done an investigation to see if they can simply hook up someone else generic receiver to the BMW simple 3 wire plug and see if it works. The three wires are ground, 12V power, and a signal, seems pretty easy. Anyone, Bueller, Bueller…..

Thanks,
Jamie

I was starting a research for it myself but I found a n original Lap timing kit for a good price and dropped the project.
This might be helpful it must be the connector plug...
