Frustrating dyno results
So i picked up my brand new s1000rr this spring. I had a Taylormade full system exhaust installed by the dealership. After break-in i had the dealership instal a power commander and k&n air filter. Today i picked up the bike and took a peak at the dyno results. My peak horsepower read at only 168hp?! I blew about $500.00 on the dyno run and tweaking and got bogus results as far as i can tell.
According to them i gained 5 pounds of torque and expensed my peak horse power.
Can anyone give some insight as to what may be the problem here? I explained my frustration to the dealership and they said, "every dyno is different", "If you want it to read higher we can make it read higher but that wont be its actual numbers."
I have been riding for three years; previously owned a 09 gsxr 750. I've never gotten in to the tuning side of bikes but thought id treat this bike to some nice upgrades; now i'm not sure sure if i just blew a **** ton of money for nothing.
What do you guys think? The dealership said this was the first s1000rr they have dyno'd (after i gave them my bike and paid).
On a side note, getting the front end of this bike off the ground (in a safe place) is as easy as turning the bike on) If their results are correct i have the lightest 168hp bike in the world.

U know at least what CF was used in that dyno?
Usually DIN outputs LOW numbers compared to SAE/ISO. I dont know any convertion table
to give to u right now so you could at least put 168hp and check "ah...its 190/200hp SAE, nah thats ok" supposing that dino was using DIN CF.
On the other hand, your bike must be not regulated correctly. U should check everything before assuming your bike was misconstructed.

Sorry, what do you mean by, "not regulated correctly".
One thing a realized is they did not have the bike in "slick mode" while performing the dyno. Would this change anything?
I'll get the actual readouts tomorrow as they are in my truck at the dealership right now.

Taylormade Exhausts are, pardon the pun, made for looks and not performance. Be honest with yourself, take another look at that system and ask yourself, do you really think that system can out do the German factory?
Not what you want to here I know.

totaly agree with this, i remember a fireblade with a taylormade on at my prefered dyno operator and it made less hp than stock.

From reading, those Taylor made exhaust are weak in making more horse power. You got what you want out of it though, looks .
What does a stock S Thou make on that dyno you were tuned on?

Read the signature...
I have heard over and over again that the TaylorMade actually reduces HP's...but on this bike...does it really matter...I mean seriously...these #'s are more fer braggin' rights than anything. There are riders out there that can smoke me on the track with 20 less horses...
If I was gonna get a full system, it'd be the Taylor...screw the HP's...that thing looks SICK!

Without knowing what you ran stock, it's hard to comment on the number as it is shown above. And as mentioned, it also depends a lot on the dyno and CFs that were used. Did the operator have any other liter bikes to compare your numbers to? That would be good too.
I had an '08 CBR1000RR and I know at that time, everyone that was going w/the under exhaust from Taylormade was seeing about no improvement in HP... maybe 2-3 was the best I heard, and some lost. I don't know what is happening w/the S1000RR but I thought I saw some gains on some dyno charts, just nothing like the full systems from Akra and others that are similar to their approach.
