Default Replacement R/h SwitchGear when using a quick action throttle

I want to fit a quick action throttle to my S1000RR and have drawn a blank with the R/h SwithGear (Cluster). The OEM swith fixes to the throttle clamp and is as slack as a yack without it. So when I fit the quick action Throttle I cant get the swithgear to clamp the handle bar. Tried tape, but the bottom clamp of the swith gear is too big for the handle bar. Any of you know of any aftermarket swithes to fix this issue. Speedy response would be helpful, I'm off to Germany 7th June, to see what this baby will do. Fully Titanium Akra, power commander, Full Ilmberger Carbon Bodywork & Quick Action Throttle if I can fit it????

I thought I would try the same thing, but ran into the BMW wierdness with the switch. I haven't found an answer, and don't expect to until one of the quick throttle suppliers builds a quick throttle specifically for the S1000.

If you find anything, post it because I am in for one!

I think not too likely - - - !

what about cutting a shim out of some proper diameter tubing?? (ID of shim tubing to match OD of handle bar and OD of shim tubing to match od of clamping area of switch group)

Which quick action throttle are you using?

Yes, I thought of shimming the throttle housing. The problem is that BMW uses a screw to locate the throttle assembly onto the handlebar. The screws that hold the housing together are tiny, and they screw into plastic, making for too weak a clamp for the shim to work. Darnit!

Has anyone looked at the possibility of using 2012 twistgrip as a quick throttle on our 2010 bikes? I did a check and the part numbers are different so that may be a way around the switchgear issue.

It's such a simple solution, I'd lay bets it won't work but I'm living in hope...

I cut the tab off the original throttle housing and then attached the switch. It worked like a champ. Although I understand some of you may not like the idea of cutting OEM parts. Often you can find a cheap one off a wreck. Remember the throttle housing doesn't have to work. All you need is that tab.
