Default Brakes screeching

my bikes brakes sound like a 1986 POS car every time i hit the front brake it sounds like nails on a chock board. bike has 1800miles on it. I went to the dealer and they told me it normal and all BMW's brake screech. Is this true? did i spend $17000, the most i could spend on a 1000 for a bike that sounds like crap when i use the front brake. i hate to say it but its embarrassing

Mine did for a while until they warm up. After 10 miles or so when they are warmer I notice it less. After 30 miles I don't hear it anymore. I got 1600miles on mine and they still squeak when cold.

Mine do it. I wear ear plugs so it doesn't bother me. I don't think the noise is that bad.

Do you hear it all the time or only when coming to a stop. That is when I hear mine the most. I have about 5,000 miles on my bike and it still does it. Not as much as initially.

Damn I was to ashamed to post this question myself! Mine seem to scream when I pulling up at the local bike night and when it cool outside. I got it to stop by.........turning my Ipod up

Mine did that for a while too, but spray the discs with some Simple Green and very lightly use the rough side of a sponge to scrub them down, both sides and around the buttons, and then go out and get on them hard a couple of times and the screeching shouldn't be as bad. Be careful though, after cleaning off the discs the brakes will not work as well as they did until you have gotten them hot and done a couple of hard stops. Also try to minimize how much of the Simple Green you get on the actual pads.
