Unhappy Fault Code: #10151 Need help.

Greetings Everyone,
My worst fears always include electrical problems. Very tough to trouble shoot and very expensive to fix. Ugh.

Here's the short, I went for a nice ride and halfway through my engine light came on. The bike went into power save mode from 6k revs and up. I went home and plugged in the GS-911. In addition to the regular errors due to my full akra system, the code 10151: injector 2/3.

Has anyone else seen that code? Any ideas for a fix? The easy answer is to go back to the dealer for service but they are not very willing to help much because I have aftermarket exhaust and assume that's the sole cause. Grr...

So replace injector or could there be other outlying issues?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Forgot to add that to my original post. I did test the injector multiple times without any errors, hence my concerns.

Since you have an exhaust I'd assume you have a PCV also? If so I'd check the connections at the injector's 2 & 3. If they both look OK I'd remove the PCV connections at the injectors, restore them to stock, and see if the code stays gone after you clear it to rule out a problem with the PCV and/or wiring.

Tell your dealer to get off their lazy asses and help you.

A full system will not void any warranty. IF you have a PC on it they will want you to remove it--or unplug it--before they attempt to work on it.

Just because the "test" in the GS911 says "do you hear the injector ticking" doesn't necessarily mean it is working all the time. Does the GS say how many times it has occurred? If you decide to check under the tank check all the zip tied wiring to the injector rail. I've seen several times where the zip-ties are put on so tight that it damages a wire. Not on the S but on other BMRs.

Wait, if you change the exhaust you will get error codes from the exhaust?

Yes.. they don't show up on your dash though. They just sit on the ECU and are picked up by your BMW Dealer or if you have a GS-911. The errors are because you will have disconnected your exhaust servos (they're no longer needed). No ill affects other than the errors sitting there on the ECU (but not on your dash).
