I was at the dealership today and had a side by side comparison of the throttle! Wow the 2011 really never felt so heavy until I tried the 2012
Anyone have any expertise on how to correct the spring tension or modify to feel like the 2012 ? I would think BMW would have the part # should be drop in play?
I don't think they changed the throttle bodies on the 2012, so it should just be a matter of ordering a new spring. As long as they don't treat them like car dealerships do, where they will only order parts associated to your VIN number. You should be able to get them off of bikebandit.com once they support the 2012 (they may already, i haven't checked).
verified with service manager today at the dealer, its not as easy as it should be just changing springs, but, the actulation of throttle would need to change from the box inside the bike (forgot the term he used)....

So did I, think I made up throttle bodies by mistake. He did say it would be very expensive though.
This came up some where else I recall a price of about $240. I never notice the hard pull until it was mentioned about 1 1/2 years after owing my bike.
Think of it as having a heavy trigger pull on a big gun!

I would say,if you are confident enough to remove the airbox etc.then making a bracket should be within anyone's capabilities.
I made a simple bracket for mine.It bolts on(with threadlock) where the throttle cable bracket fits.I cut down a piece of angle and drilled a small hole to locate the existing spring, reducing it's tension.
It may need a bit of trial and error because there is very little clearance between the airbox and throttle bodies.
The action is much softer now.Just waiting for some better weather to try it properly.
