OBDII Port
Does our bike have an OBDII port that a data logger can be connected to, or any other similar way to get the data like revs, speed etc.

Yes.
I think the most common-cheap one is the GS-911:
GS-911 Diagnostic Tool for BMW Motorcycles
I have one and it works fine; let me know if you have specific questions regarding features.

What Ed is describing is located and accessed from under the passenger seat (or cowl). It sits just just to the front of the passenger seat location, right behind the main seat. It's a large round plug with a cap that sits in a little perch/clip, you can pull it out and it allows the BMW to plug into your bike or you plug your GS911 into it (if you have one).

If you're asking if our bikes have an ODBII port, the answer is no. No bike does that I'm aware of. Whether these guys have an appropriate kit to adapt the gizmo to the S1000RR electronics, I can't tell.

Thanks Mark.
Just done a bit more searching, the SOLO DL can connect to the s1000rr in 2 places, either through the pin connectors on the back of the dash OR through the DWA connector (antitheft) under the pillion seat.

OK, Just ordered this:
AIM Solo DL GPS Laptimer
Thanks to Tony for all his help and advice. I can honestly say the service has been second to none. He replied to emails at all hours of the day, not just working hours, and nearly all the time within 10 mins.
He is in the process of making his own autoclave carbon fibre parts. I will post up some pics when I receive them.

I will make a thread about the install and the workings and data, when it arrives. So hopefully in about a weeks time. Wont be using it at the track for a while until it warms up a bit, but will try to do a road 'circuit'.
