Default Yoshimura - Case Savers, Oil & Inspection Plug - Puke Purple II

Greetings - For those of you who made the mistake of purchasing this Japanese crap & realized the "quality" of their coating turning a lovely PUKE PURPLE please contact:

Following the replacement of all 3 components twice before since I installed on my bike in 3/10 I finally asked Yosh for a refund yesterday. As long as you have your receipt, even if the purchase was not made direct, you can get your money back & invest in something more substantive. As for me I completed my investment of R&G Racing components by installing the clutch, generator & water pump covers. They install easily, look AWESOME & are quite functional.

Crap?

Hardly.

I had R&G stuff on my previous bike & it broke off during a ride. Overpriced & a total pain in the ass dealing with them in the UK.

My Yosh savers survived a 60MPH lowside with negligible damage to the bodywork and none to the cases.

I had the case savers as well. They went purple so I returned them to the distributor I bought them from who refunded me. Protection wise luckily I didnt need to find out. Colour wise, the quality is not good.

I also think that R&G is gaining a reputation that the quality is not what it was.

I bought GB Racing covers, which have FIM Approval at the moment.

There's a set on my S1000RR , but fwiw their turning purple too after a year and a half.

If it really bothered me I'd simply paint them whatever color I wanted, but I can live with it. More trouble than it's worth to R&R them anyway.

Mine also went purple after about 6 months.

I contacted Yoshimura and they sent out a replacement set at no cost.

They said that their early products had problems due to their 3rd party manufacturing contractor.

Yosh treated me really well and were very apologetic about the problem.

Fortunately I havent had to test them.

After an extended period of time my Woodcrafts turned a light purple too, but it was acceptable.

My 2nd set remains black, but I wouldn't be surprised if they start turning a purple hue like the 1st set did. It's really a pretty subtle color shift and not a deal breaker for me. Some might prefer it. Calling them crap seems a little drama queen.
