question about pcV / auto tuner / o2 sensors
im looking to do a akra full shorty race system and im familiar with the pc3 on my other bikes but they didn't have o2 sensors and what not.. if i get the akra shorty full race and just a pcv, is the install similar to the pc3? and there's no inserts for the 02 sensors on the race system correct? will that throw a dash error? and what exactly does the autotune do and do i need it? i have 2k to spend and i want to make sure i get the right stuff. if anyone has anything to recommend i also purchase and install to increase performance that would be great!!
thanks for the help

PCV doesn't require the O2 sensor and so you will remove it. It will pop codes if you have a GS911 but no dash errors if you install the system correct. If you install the Autotune it comes with a O2 sensor to install in your exhaust. You will also need some smog blockoff (pair valve) plugs as you need to remove this system for the Autotune to work correct. What the Autotune does is tweak the map as atmospheric conditions change to maintain optimized target Air / Fuel ratio throughout the gear/rpm cycle. It works best with a good base map.

thanks alot!!, so in other words i can run this machine with the removal of the o2 sens, bmc race filter, akra shorty race and pcV with out codes showing in my face and the autotune im below or at sea level most of my time riding so im assuming i wont be needing that and the i was reading a post about the pair valve, should i plug it anyway? more power/ + response?

Plugging the PAIR valve will not provide any power increase or increase responsiveness. If you're not running the AutoTuner OR you don't plan on getting a custom dyno tune or just dyno'd in general, just leave the PAIR valve as is.

yes i am looking on doing a full dyno tune along the mods mentioned above, so do you recommend i plug it before i dyno it? or still leave it as is?

Plug it prior to the dyno tune. Otherwise, your AFRs will be off (slightly high/lean).

Slightly on topic:
I've done plenty of block offs on Yamahas. Is this bike the same?
I mean are they sitting on top of the head? Can you access them from the front or do you have to remove the airbox?
