Default sure

At first it sounded like a Valve clicking noise......click click click.

Then went to a more pronounced CLACK CLACK CLACK. this happened over a day and a half at the track.

When it sheered off it was a loud CLACKING.....bike still ran, but noise was VERY PRONOUNCED.

Shop manager called me yesterday, gear is in, they think it will be another week and a half before its fixed. Hopefully trhats all thats busted. Shop kinda pissed me off when I found out the only VISUALLY INSPECTED the damage (not a full teardown).....with parts coming from germany and customs and Christmas I doubt if theirs anything else wrong it'd be ready for the start of WERA Jan 08......keeping fingers crossed !

Thumbs down

Ive been down this road before with exactly the same issue (broken gear). It was on a Triumph & under warranty. It was my only ride so i had to rent a car & the neg $ were piling up! To add insult to injury as luck would have it at that time the factory in the UK just happened to burn to the ground so no parts were available at all! I managed to find a 2nd gear & gave it to them at which point they had already had my bike for 2 full weeks!

They wanted another 2 weeks to put her back together & i wouldn't have any of it. Things went sideways quickly &, Truimph USA & the LEO had to get involved! The dealer refused to release my bike as "it was warranty work & they had already started said work"!

Cut a long story short i picked up my bike in 8 boxes with officers present after Truimphs insistence! Ultimately the dealer was told by Truimph that >>>>>> "its HIS bike, give it to him" I took it to another dealer "a friend 90 miles away" that put her back together in 48 hours flat!!

Good luck with your situation.

Bike went into local BMW back in October after the Oct. CVMA event.....

As of yesterday......still not even started on the repair..WTF !

I guess changing oil for the Local Cops is more important than supporting the other customers at this dealership.

This was the kinda stuff that drove me away from Ducatti.......I was hoping BMW would be different.....so much for spitting in the wind.

After this experience I'm kinda thinking back to R1's or maybe GSXR's.......they seem to get out of the shop a whole lot faster.

I'd be of the same opinion if I were you. At a minimum I'd be going and picking it up and taking it to another dealer that at least acted (a little) like they appreciated their customers.

What Dealer is it?

Believe me.....that scenario is being worked on at this very moment.

I really blame myself for this.......

Should have had the Bike over to Lee's Cycle and let them deal with it.

I F'd up by taking it to BMW in the first place....they just aren't capable of handling anything past a SIMPLE SERVICE job.
