Default Ohlins susp vs fordged alum wheels

My 50th birthday is approaching in the not too distant future. and my wife has asked me what I would like for a present, now of course I would love to add both Ohlins and a nice set of wheels to the S1RR but she has asked me to limit it to one or the other. So since I am at an impasse with myself, what say you, given an either or choice which would you choose and why.
BTW my bike already has a full akro system and PCV with auto tune

never go wrong with good suspension but if you're not going to use it's full potential and stock works fine, wheels would probably suite you better.

not a racer but fairly aggresive street rider with some trackdays thrown in
and whichever I do now, I will do the other at a later date

+1 for suspension. Of all the upgrades I have done, wheels, exhaust, suspension, etc. that was by far the best upgrade. Either way, both are great choices.

With suspension you'll feel more of a difference, and a more comfortable ride! I've done aluminum marchesini's on my old gsxr and didn't notice a big difference. if your going to change wheels I would definitely reccommend going with magnesium or carbon fiber in which you would feel a huge difference! Just my .02

+1 BST carbon would be sweet (if a little expensive).
I'm not too sure how much weight you'd save by going with AL wheels. I don't know the facts and figures so please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the BMW wheels pretty light already?

If I had to choose one, then that would be easy: suspension. a good Öhlins set up is immediately noticeable in almost all types of riding. That said, I'm tempted by ultra light wheels for the track too...but they are very much lower on the list.

Go with the suspension, a bike this powerful needs a good set of legs under it!!
