Default Q2 compared to M5

Anyone who has run the M5 Metzler and the Dunlop Q2 please post your opions on how the two compare as i am about to pull the trigger on some m5's because the Q2'2 are great, but 2000 miles a set is not acceptable.

If ur talking an everyday tire, I'd go with the M5's. I only say that because of their stability in wet conditions.

If you ride a little more aggressively, I'd go with the Q2. Sorry this didn't help more, just my opinion.

With the right suspension settings and correct tire pressure, the Q2 will last much longer. I am on my second set of Q2 and my first set lasted me 7k, 9k miles (rear, front).

What air settings did you go with?

You can get reasonable mileage out of Q2's but not at some of the low street tire pressures I see bandied about on this board. I'm not sure any sport tire gets more than a couple K when you're running pressures in the high-20's and low-30's.

+1, agreed!!

here are my reference in terms of usage:

K1300S (550 lb bike), 3,000 miles with out any problem with handling consistency (still have about 300~400 in the middle, decide to change up because the side wear was below worn indicator)

GSXR K2 (450 lb bike)- did 6 track days with numerous of canyon riding, slip a few time, but, predicable, yet, i sold the bike before i get to see when it needs the change.

I would think GSXR would be something like S1 we have, but, just reference.

good luck...
