Default Michelin Power Ones

I'm after anyone with experiance of Michelin Power One tyres, if you have used them? What compound? On track or not? Would you recommend them?

My BMW dealer won't fit them as BMW only allow 3 tyres and they are crap.

I have used the Road version and they are very sticky. On the track they wont last long if you are pushing them hard.I have now in my garage the B compound and I am looking forward to check it in the track.

Michelin Power Ones are a very good tire to get...if you can afford them!

I was using the commercial version of the Power One and the tire lasted me about 2.5 track days of running middle level intermediate.

I really love these tires: they're lighter, they give great feedback, and have ultimate grip.
However, completely agree with DrIoannis...they don't last long....

So, I went to different tire brands, and less "up scale" versions. I can only justify the cost of regularly buying this tire if I become a very advanced trackday rider/racer that demands ultimate grip & performance.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

How do they compare to Dunlop D211s or Qualifier GPs?

Well as far as I know from my experience with the road version of the Michelin Power One and the Dunlop D211GP race version,I prefer the Dunlop. They are 2 different tires but I really like how they turn in and the tremendous grip they offer when they are HOT. They need to be in the correct temperature and this can bee achieved with tire warmers. The Dunlop is a hardcore race tire and need to be pushed hard to keep high temp and work well. The Michelin is maybe the best road tire I have ever tried. It really heats up quickly and stick very very well on the road.In the racetrack though it overheats and if pushed it will not last long and have a soapy feeling.I have not tried the race version yet but I will soon

Love them!

Way better than any Dunlop I have used in the past. Have used A and V compound on the front and found the A to be preferrable, have used B and C compound on the rear and like the B but as has been mentioned, it won't last long. But, that's generally the trade off you must make, more grip = less mileage, less grip = more mileage. I'II take the grip every time thanks....

I have used the Power ones B compound at Jennings and Roebling they work great I can only get two track days out of the rear. Great grip very good tire with the power that the bike puts down I want a true track tire for the track. Like the saying goes its the only thing to contact the road dont cheap out on tires ever.
