Default Suspension Set Up By Dave Moss

I had my 2011 S1000rr suspension setup professionally wow what a difference. It was set up by Dave Moss in San Carlos on 975 industrial. No more front brake dive or rear end dive on take offs. I can honestly say that was the best 40 bucks I spent. If you haven't setup your suspension on your bike, do it you don't know what you are missing. The bike is so predictable in turns I can't believe a little suspension change can do that much. I will be out on the track at Thunder hill on August 15,2011 hope to see some of you out their. Dave Moss will be their too, get you bike done by this guy one of the best suspension guru's out their. Google him

Did he mainly set your SAG to proper specs for you or was there geometry changes?

What are your stats (weight, skill level, etc.) and do you mind sharing your settings?

Ditto! I want to set mine up but I really prefer a professional opinion. My dealer did mine and said the stock settings were spot on for me. I don't know, the bike rides great but I wouldn't know the difference.

Dave Moss set the sag for me for my weight and adjusted all the bikes settings for me in the front and rear other than that it was a basic setup no Geometry changes. Next yr I will have him re-valve the whole bike, the cost for this service is 500 bucks not bad. The bike coming off the show room floor was way to soft and the suspension would dive under braking and under acceleration. After Dave set up my bike it now feels like I have a whole new bike. All I can say if you have not had your suspension set up you don't know what you are missing get it done.

I'm 5'10 207Ibs. My skill level would be Intermediate I run both B & C on the track.

I just took my 2011 to Dave and we did some basic adjustments. Out of the show room I thought this bike was unrideable.

The most important thing we did was to rise up the fork to the second line and crank up the compression on the fork. I am now at 9 on the fork which leads me to believe I may have to put some $$$ into it.

The rear tire still feels it wants to slide, but I am used to dunlop and this mezler feel like really soft carcass

my background is: I raced an R6 with AFM 600 SB for two years and TZ 250 for one.

I am 5.11 200 pounds

What settings are you using on the rear? I am exactly your height and weight and I have found a really good setup for my riding style... I have 11,400 miles on my Bike in the last 9 months and have been tweaking my suspension setup for a while.

What are all the other settings you are using?

In what circumstances do you feel like the rear tyre is sliding?

Cheers..

If you get some better rubber on there, you'll eliminate that "slide" feeling immediately. Step up to a Dunlop Q2 street or for the track a Pirelli Trackday ProSlick.

Dave's the man!!! I'm so pleased with the setup he did on my bike!!!

Dave did my suspension too. A true, knowledgeable professional and highly recommended/regarded!

Dave's great! He didn't just setup my suspension - he taught me how he set it up.

Those of you on the East Coast are missing out.

Did you know that Dave runs his very own 8-hour trackday school?! Feel The Track! Catalyst Reaction Suspension Tuning
