Default Moral of the story: No more DOT tires at the racetrack for me!

The 'ol ride 'o shame. Rode like a bat out of hell really pushing the Dunlop Q2's as far as they would go. Eventually ran out of tire and lost the front then that was about all she wrote. Here's my advice for the trackday folks: If you're going to really ride fast go ahead and order 211's or slicks.

After the wreck the instruments said "Needs Service." I laughed a little.

Now I get to rebuild my bike. Should I just replace everything with stock parts or "go big or go home" and order all of the carbon fiber, high speed race parts?

I'd get a set of race plastics for track days. They are relatively cheap compared to stock and especially compared to CF. If you go down again they are cheap to replace/repaint (paint them yourself, it doesn't have to be pretty for the track). The money you save vs. CF you can use for 211s or some suspension upgrades.

Glad to see you're ok.
Remember, all the high-end parts in the world will not make up for rider era. just sayin.

The left side was untouched. Pretty lucky considering it went end over end a few times. The yoshi frame slider did its job and the right side, save for the pipe, was unhurt accept for some grass and dirt. The front and rear took the biggest hit.

Hind-sight is 20/20 and a set of cheapo track plastic would have made sense but circumstances did not make them an option. 600 miles away from your tools and a dealer that charges 75/h labor had something to do with it. But yes, next time it will have some track plastics for sure.

I the right side rear set. If I buy a new pair are there any than can be adjusted down for a little more comfort on the street?

Glad that you're ok. I hope nothing serious with the bike - just cosmetics...

Here's some more carnage. Look away if you're squeamish.

Looks like most of the brake fluid fell on the ground and not on the paint. I gave the bike a wipe down before we packed it up so hopefully the fairings aren't ruined.

Not sure if the instrument cluster is ok or not. Still operated but did display some funky stuff.

Sorry to hear about your get off but it does happen and will happen again.

If you replace the dash, I will buy your broken one from you I need one for parts..
Can you take a pic of your dash while the power is on I would like to see what it reads.

Cheers

Glad to see your okay,

I thought 211 were DOT tires and you don't want to run street tires at the track. What was your tire pressure in the Q2"s. just wondering.
