Default Getting my Tire models straight

Hey Folks, I plan on getting a new set of tires before my K3 give up. I have
1600miles on them so I better hurry. I want to make sure I got the right models for the preffered tire.

Can yoall confirm these are the models in order of preference for our forum?

1. Metzeler Sporteck K3
2. Dunlop Sport Max Q2
3. Michelin Power Pure
4. Pirelli Diablo Rosso II

Any comments on performance will be greatly appreciated. I really want the stickiest tires. Cheers.

You will get as many permutations as the list allows..

My feeling is, so far, you can't go wrong with any of those tires. I would buy based upon value, which means for most cases, the Q2.

Aren't they Metzeler Interact K3? (what I've just ordered anyway).

Metzeler uses the terms Racttec, Interact, and Sporttec in confusing ways. I think the actual name of the K3's is Racetec K3, but Metzeler says they have "Interact Technology". The M5's are called Sporttec M5 Interact. And then there are the Sporttec M3. This confusing enough?

If the tire you're getting says K3, you should get the one our bikes come with standard.

(If you find a good price on K3s, please post - if I could get a set under $350 or so, I'd probably spring for them.)

Well I'm in the UK and got mine for £230 with free delivery off an Ebay shop, which was about £50 less than anyone else not including delivery.

My bike came with Conti's so anything is better in my book. lol

Well you should specify why you want them for? Track street etc..

You should also consider the new dunlop sportmart sportmax...pretty well rated..

Dunlop specifies the sportmax Q2 for street & track.

There's a BMW dealer advertising in Ride magazine offering a pair of Metzeler Racetec for £225 fitted. Not sure whether that's the K3 or M5.
Sounds like a reasonable price but I have always hated Metzelers so it'll be Michelin Pilot Power or Power Pures for me next time.

I'd take the K3 over the Power Pure any day of week if outright grip and feeling from the front is paramount.

As mentioned earlier, the Dunlop SportSmart is an excellent tyre with better grip than the Conti's or Power Pures, much better 'feel' than either and they seem to be lasting well too.
