Default easiest way to clean wheels?

So what is the easiest way? Is there a way to make them easy to clean in the future once I get them clean?

Wax the wheels, it'll make the cleaning the brake dust off easier the next time you wash it.

For bugs, tar and grease, use WD40 as mentioned, or a degreaser like Simple Green.

I use the same Meguairs polish and carnauba wax I use on the rest of the bike. They come up a treat and it's easy to clean crud off them.

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!! .. if you get wax, lube, grease, wd-40 ETC.. ANYTHING like that on your tires, clean it off as SOON as possible. This could lead to a very bad situation when you decide to ride. If you do get some on there, clean it off and be VERY cautious for your first few miles as the contaminated rubber is removed via the road, IMHO that is.

Ive always found the best way to keep wheels tip top all the time is to use Autoglym shampoo, fill a bucket up will hot water and add a small amount of the shampoo, now dip you Microfibre cloth in the bucket give it a good squeeze out, not too much, then wipe wheel and watch all the crap come off!! It leave wheels gleaming and streak FREE. Then just add some wax so the job gets even easier over time.I use this method for cleaning the bike as-well,making sure i use a separate cloth for the tank and body work.

WD40 and a soft cloth - worked for me and thousands of others for years.

Be careful not to pick up any debris on the cloth as the gloss finish is easily scratched (ask me how I know...).

If you get WD40 on the tyre simply wash off with soapy water.
