Exclamation Another happy Ohlins customer...A little review inside

I am not going to review it in depth like others did. Just a few paragraphs of my impressions. Anyhow, few days ago I got my forks/shock/damper installed. All i can say is---"Why didn't i do this sooner?". I only rode it on the street so far, no twisties yet.

Initial impression: "Holy stiffness!" Is all i could think of while i was getting my sag dialed in. I was beginning to second guess myself and few thoughts of---"That Dan Kyle fella is full of crap! This suspension ain't going to comfortable!" came across my mind too. Bike felt extremely firm to say the least. Those thoughts vanished once i pulled out of the driveway. That firmness transformed to bumps absorbent monster that just swallowed all of the bad inputs that the less the perfect local road had to offer. Now S1 and my kidneys are serene and tame to ride over rough surfaces, speed bumps, crap pavement of Southern Tampa area and etc.

Handling This kit has 110% improved the charasterics of this bike in all aspects. Like all Ohlins reviewers have stated---"it boosts confidence". Well thats an phookin' understatement to say the least. I was confident on a tuned stock suspension but this totally changed everything. Turn in a lot sharper and less effort (I actually almost turned into oncoming traffic lane because the damn thing turns so sharp and quick). Flickability is effortless and its a HUGE benefit while roaming around Tampa traffic ( lots of idiots on the road ). Stability while cornering is phenomenal. K3s feel like an octopus is assisting them to grip the road. Cornering has a neutral feel, no sh*tty feedback from the rear, no squatting, no nothing. Just a fluid, solid and stable motion.

Pricing and install I got all 3 pieces tuned and installed for 200 bucks by a local suspension guru. Everything was picked apart to make sure that proper springs were installed, not a trust issue but just making sure. Kit overall cost me a tad over 3k from the infamous TJ ( thank you if you read this ).

I rode the twisties today and i was amazed till i almost lowsided due to front tire (K3) letting go briefly. The only that saved was that i was hugging the inside of the lane so i had room to recover, scary thing to experience when your knee is few inches off the ground and a nice little ravine on both sides of the road. Anyhow, the suspension felt very weird to me at first. I am used to light steering (no resistance from the clip ons), not so quick to flick type of a bike. Now the clip ons have a good firm feel (damper is set on 10), flicking the bike from left to right at high speeds was a breeze and it holds the line like a champ now. I rode every corner that used to induce a headshake in the past, today none of it was reproduced.

However, I do feel that K3s aren't playing well with the current set up. K3s never let me down till today. Anyone else feel the same way?
