Default ODD left & Right Front Discs.

HI,

Just back from Germany, where I had a slight wobble under hard braking into hair pins etc. Thought it was my tyres or suspension setup.

I have just found that fitted to my 2011 bike I have odd Front Discs.

As basic as I can explain, if you count the drilled holes in the discs from one bobbin to the other (count holes at each bobbin) I have 18 holes on the left disc & 11 holes on the right disc?????

Not got onto BMW yet but do any of you know if the early & late bikes have different Discs fitted???

I'll upload pictures to my forum name (WhackyRcaing), not sure if you can view them?? Don't know how to add pictures to my message sorry!!

Are both discs Brembos?

Hi,

yes both discs are Brembo's, they look exactly the same except for the number of drilled holes in them. Susupect I have an early 2011 bike (B in vin number) but for some reason i've got a 2010 & 2011 disc. Guess BMW trying to shed a few grams???

I'll get onto the dealer tomorrow and let you know the outcome.
Hope they dont mess me around with warranty claim like they did with my rear shock linkage!!

So long as the front wheel has been dynamically balanced it shouldn't cause any vibration. Braking forces might be very slightly different on each disc but I'm not sure how that would cause a wobble either (consider bikes with a single front disc). I agree though, it’s aesthetically unsatisfactory....

Don't talk to me about warranty claims

BMW are shockingly bad at dealing with problems.

That is really poor. You should get a new pair of discs.
