Default Front Damping Adjustment Screws Is This Normal?

So I was adjusting my suspension today and I noticed that all the adjustment screws won't turn any higher than 10 or lower than 1. What I mean by this is that if you want to go from say 3 to 7 you go 4, 5, 6, 7. You can't go 2, 1, 10, 9, 8, 7, but on the right front damping adjustment screw (the one on the throttle side by the wheel) the screw won't go past 5 but it will go past 10 and 1. So for me to go from 3 to 7 on only that side I can't go 4, 5, 6, 7 because it won't turn past 5. I go 4, 5 and then the screw won't turn anymore like it is at 10 or 1 on any of the other screws. However, with that screw I can go 2, 1, 10, 9, 8, 7. Is this normal for that screw or is there something wrong with either the screw or the indicators. I don't really want to be riding around with two different front damping settings.

Each type of setting, whether compression or rebound, should go from 1 (turned counter clockwise it should stop at 1) and go to 10 (turn clockwise from 1 you should get 10 clicks and stop at 10).

Whether you are getting that or not turning full counter clockwise (position 1) would be the least amount and turning full clockwise will be the most amount. Your numbers may not match but full counter or full clockwise are the limits.

Sounds like someone took the forks apart and did not have the adjusters turned to the correct limit. I think its supposed to be set at 1 for disassemble/assemble.

Did you buy the bike new? If so take it to the dealer and get it sorted. If not they can fix it or any other competent shop. There is nothing really wrong with the suspension it is just that the "numbers" are off. Adjust by "clicks" and you should be fine. If you can live with it.

you need to forget about the "numbers" and just count the clicks.. make sure you go from the setting it's at and turn counter clockwise till it stops to see what you were really at. and it's a good idea to write this stuff down. but get your sag set before anything.
