Question Tyre Pressure Gauges

Thinking about getting a tyre pressure gauge.

Dont want to spend lots of money.

Digital or analogue?

How do you know if they are accurate or not?

TIA

I'm pretty sure that if you're going to say "tyre" and "analogue", you also have to say "gage".

- Make sure you can get the chuck on the front valve with the rotors
- Make sure the range covers 20-50 psi (1.5-4 bar if you're into that)
- It's really handy if it has a bleed button on the gage
- Now decide how much you want to spend

You know if it's accurate by getting several gages together, checking pressure on the same tire (ideally a big car tire so it doesn't drop much pressure) and seeing what the consensus is.

That Snap-on gauge looks the part, can't go wrong with that! We've been using Motion Pro tire meters for a few years now. They've proven accurate and reliable for us.

KeS:

What have plums got to do with it?

Or are you referring to marijuana?

That's "reefering"

If you buy that snazzy Snap-On gage, get the rubber boot to put around it so it doesn't get dented up the first time you drop it.

Question to the world at large: With such illustrious examples of expensive tire gages as depicted in this thread (I'm afraid to PM and ask how much the Motion Pro is) - why is it that they STILL sell them with the gage face upside down when you hold them like everyone naturally does - with the gage cupped in your palm and your thumb on the bleed valve?

Any opinions on these?

We would go through a couple of digital gauges every year when I was 'doing' the race cars.

My advice would be pick a mid range analogue gauge from Demon Tweeks and keep it safe/don't drop it etc
