Default Brake Pad Availability Update

Just past 4300 miles & brake pads & tires are exhausted. Asked my race shop and BMW dealer to acquire EBC or Ferodo re: pads consistent with Double H performance, not a full race pad like Pro Extreme. Both said EBC has a new part# for 2011, ostensibly to address the 4.5mm requirement, but they are not shipping or discussing this issue - WTF? Ferodo, my personal favorite from the track, are 30-45 days out. SBS ended up being the only one I can but today, & they would be my 3rd choice.

By now we should all be well aware of the 4.5mm backing plate debacle - if you are not - than search within this forum & get your self acquainted! Most of us are pushing hard in the canyons or twisty's where you are & want better performance on the front. Pads are the easiest way to accomplish this upgrade. Let's not digress into war stories re: rotors, master cylinders, mono block calipers, jeez, let's focus on documenting availability, experience and performance of Brake Pad replacement for street use by those with actual experience with any specific product exclusively on the S1000.

As for rubber, I am changing K3's to Bridgestone BT-003RS, I really liked this tire on a race bike I placed back on the street prior to my S1000 arriving last March - solid feel at lean angles gave me confidence to push - hard. Thanks!

Manufacturers - are you paying attention?

I'm not using it for the Track unfortunatly. I would rather have something more aimed at street riding and lower operating temps, hence the XBK5's. Otherwise, I'd go with the C59's.

They are being rushed into production as per Dave Horn @ Spiegler Performance "CL didn't get the backing plates in till the beginning of March. They are rushing them through production to apply the material but won't give me a definitive ETA on when I will get them"
