Default Wilburs

Has anyone seen a Wilburs suspension setup on the S1KRR yet? My local dealer is a factory authorized Wilburs dealer and rebuild center. We got to talking about their availability for the S1KRR. They told me that the rear shock is no problem, but that the forks would have to be sent to Germany for build-out. They also mentioned that a couple of teams in Europe are running them (but I can't recall who).

The price is right, and I had really good results with them on my GSA. Granted that is not a fair comparison to the S1k, but worth mentioning.

They also said that to the best of their knowledge - if I decided to go with Wilburs - I might be the first in the US to have them on the S1k.

I'm an Ohlins guy, but even with that, if Ohlins hadn't built anything for my brand of bike yet I'd be hesitant to be the first. Fun to be unique and the first, but it could be a long road to good front forks from Wilbers. At this point in the popularity of the S1000RR, I'm amazed that Wilbers doesn't already have something for the S1000RR Sachs forks, especially since they're in Germany and have teams using their gear. Don't tie up your bike by sending your forks to them, there isn't that much winter left.

Yes, its the whole "being the first" thing that scares me off a bit. I would like to think that if Wilburs is on some team bikes, that they have things dialed in, but you never know.

But they way they would recolor my forks black is pretty cool
