Default BSTs weighed and questions

Weighing the stock OEM wheels with sprocket and carrier came out at 12.5kgs (27.5lbs) on my scales which is light for OEM wheels. (lighter than some aftermarket forged)

The BSTs weighed with +2, 525 supersprox, 9.2kgs (20.24lbs) a saving of 3.3kgs (7.26lbs)

I didn't weigh front & rear seperately, but the front felt lighter and the rear was considerably lighter to pick up. Certainly makes rear wheel removal easier on your back.

Questions for those that have fitted BSTs:
1. did you use the original rotor mount bolts or found shorter ones? They are too long.
2. How are your cush drive rubbers holding up? Had to replace?

Saving 7lbs no. But it is a lot more than just weight saving. I have had aftermarket wheels on a few bikes but never BSTs.

The gyroscopic effect of the lighter outer rim of the BSTs is more noticable than any other wheel I have used.

Aside from the lighter, quicker steering especially as the speed gets high, the bike feels like it has lost 10kg and gained 10hp. Probably the easiest way I can describle it is it now feels like 600 with a 1000cc engine.

It has been worth it in my opinion, I'm very happy with the result.

What is your solve for the rotor bolts? I have a set coming and want to be prepared. Is there a kit?

I saw this discussion here about the sprocket, but you are talking about the brake rotors?

Bolts

I just got of the phone with the Aus Pro Bolt distributor Titanium Disc Rotor Bolts - Pro-Bolt Australia - Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminum Fasteners for Motorcycles & Cycles he said they will be able to supply titanium or stainless shorter bolts.

So I need to get the exact measurements and send themthe details.

Below is a pic of the bolt.

I bought an extra set of frt rotor bolts and had them shortened on a CNC machine. You could just remove yours and do them. You need to reduce them by exactly 7mm. As for the cush rubbers, I have done 4000kms and they are fine. I bought an extra cush drive set (which has a set of rubbers) for sprocket quick changes so I should be fine. The entire cush drive bolts nuts and rubbers cost me $200 so I am sure the rubbers are cheap. By the way, I think the rubbers are the same as the Marchesini rubbers.

Why don't you just cut or grind them down to size?
