Default 200 series tire + TC

Anyone have any experiences with running a 200 series on track or at the very least the street? I'm well aware that the tc has a range of capable tire sizes that it can set up for but I'm also not sure if a 200 series tire ever fit in to that equation.

If anyone has some real world experience or has contact with racers or teams that would have experience, I would love to hear the thoughts on the tc in conjunction with it.

Pirelli is releasing a new 200 slick and DOT this year and I have been hearing great things about them.

i dont see any point in running a 200 rear...??? i might be wrong but the wider the tyre the lower the profile angle are,so it wont turn as quick..????? some one will come along and say if im right or wrong....lol

For me it's about GRIP and there is considerable more GRIP with a 200 over a 190. I used to run a 190 on my 600 and I was able to get that thing to turn just as good if not better than the 180. Your also raising the rear and dropping the front which is creating a more aggressive stance so I don't know the answer.

To me though, there is ALWAYS reason to add rubber and therefore grip, it's all about confidence and I have more confidence with more rubber, plain and simple for ME!!

Now can someone PLEASE respond to the question, I'm deciding if I should switch out my 190's for 200's and the tc is all that counts in my choice.

I used to run a oversize 200 on my CBR900. Mostly cause it looked COOL being that fat!
it changes the profile though, a little harder to turn in so switching back & forth on a track is more difficult.
it had loads of grip, so much grip that I had trouble breaking it loose....until full lean when it hit the lip which protruded past the wheel. The thing wobbled like crazy and was very hard to control. not at all like the smooth roll off and slide of a right siz tire (180 at the time)
If you are just streeting it and never hot your hero blobs on your foot pegs that GO FOR IT! but if you lean it over be carefull.
hope that helps.

Ultimately it's a question of circumference-if the tyre is bigger then it will turn slower therefore IMO it will activate the TC later.Obviously it is also relevant to front tyre size too.
There is a thread on here somewhere with varying tyre circumference/diameters etc relevant to width/aspect ratio between different tyre manufacturers.
