Default Comeon DUNLOP

What the hecks is going on with DUNLOP ?

They have replaced their prior distributer and are now hooked up with Erion Racing as the main West Coast distributer.

Erion is in an immediate learning curve with DUNLOP and frankly don't know alot about the tires.

Everyone seems to want the D211 6680 compound in a 200 rear and DUNLOP sold out of them around Nov. of last year and word on the street is they won't be making any more...WTF ! ! !

DUNLOP has been a great tire...Only one I would ever really want to run !

Am I left to go to Perelli ? Michelin ? What about all the DUNLOP stickers on my bike and Toyhauler......This really sucks !

We will be testing the 200 Pirelli later this month.
I have one here now, it does weight more than their (Pirelli's) 190 rear tire.

The Pirelli front is quite good, I have talked to anumber of top 5 guys who prefer it to the Dunlop.
Most of the same riders felt the Dunlop was the better rear compared to the Pirelli 190 rear.

SportTire still has some stock. I just picked up both a soft and a medium 200 width rear. Ordered yesterday and showed up today. Call them.

I was the tire rep at my local track for "sport tire service" Terry told me what happened and gave me Erion's #, I have call Erion 3x sent 4 emails trying to buy 17 sets of race tires and NO ONE WILL F*(&^ING help me at that place! this is how it went down

call #1 talked to a guy named "Rick" he said we can set up the same deal I had with STS but he sounded uninterested in helping me at all, said he would email me a price sheet... this was 2 weeks ago still nothing

call #2 talked to a guy who had NO idea what he was doing. he said I'll have "Rick" call you! ....... this was last week .... still no call

called yesterday, i was told the guy I need to talk to is in a meeting that they would have him call me ASAP.......(no call yet! ) "must have been Rick!"

Every email has went unanswered!

so yeah Dunlop Fuc*^&% BIG up buy taking this away from STS + Terry was a great guy!

Well here's my experience as of yesterday with Rick......

After inquiring last week of Erion and a promise to get back to me MONDAY I recieved a call yesterday WEDNESDAY about tires......here's what RICK at ERION told me.

The 6680 200 rear will no longer be made.

There is a replacement compound for the 6680...it is the 6838. AND that is being made in the 200 rear. There are lots of 6680 front tires left. Rick said they have currently 20 6838 200's in stock........this makes NO SENSE to me at all.

Why did he have to get an email from Dunlop telling him what he already had in stock ? Is the 6838 really the eqivalant of the 6680 ? or is it OLD STOCK they are trying to dump (my suspicion).

Called one of the best HUMAN BEINGS I know....JIM COX in Vegas and he's trying to get some straight answers for me.

Im pretty pissed at the BULLSHIT run around DUNLOP is doing here. Is this how LOYAL CUSTOMERS are supposed to be treated....or are we seeing the unraveling of a company ?

In all fairness to Sport Tire, Erion and especially JIM COX....they have always treated me with courtesy and respect and tried to be helpful, I think there hands are tied due to DUNLOPS CORPORATE people back east.

Anyway.....I called the PRESS....YEP ! Roadracing World and requested that they actually do some real journalistic investigation ....if they can remove there lips from the latest sportbike makers ass.....and look into this DUNLOP DILEMA.

GUY LARSEN
WERA WEST#48 (Novice) ....and pretty slow.

I'm sure RRW would be happy to get right on to your request after reading that.

I had an 1/2 hour long talk with Kevin Erion and I hope we came to a conclusion on our dilemma. he explained that he was kinda handed the keys to the ship and left in the cold, I told him every one is up in arms about the service they are getting and he said he knows there is huge holes in service and they are trying to fix them.
