Sorry: Tyres (Again)
I apologise in adavance as I know there are hundresd of such threads. Mine is a simple question I hope.
My Metzler Racetec Interact K3's are due for replacement. Unbelievably I got 5,000ks and 3 track days out of them. Yes they are shagged, and I do ride hard in the A Fast group. I don't ride in the rain so it is not an issue, it is a sunday fun bike. I use warmers at the track.
I have no complaints what so ever, excellent. Only complaint would be is that they are a bit pricey and they have worn out in the middle (flat spot). Maybe some dual compounds are the go?
My question is, there is a large number of new tyres that have just come on the market, is it worth trying something new, or just stay with the Racetec's?
Lets see there are the Dunlop, Sportsmart, the Q2, the Bridgestones, 003's the Pirelli Supercorsa SP, the new Diablo Corsa Rossa, the Michelin Pures, the Power Ones, The Continental Race Attacks etc etc you get the idea, confusing. However some of the above have killer deals on, I can't find any deals on the Racetec's.
What do you think?

I LOVE the Diablo Rosso Corsas... probably my favorite ever tyre... Dual compound with a harder center. That's what I'm putting on my Bike when my K3's are toast. I commute 1,300 miles a month, so I go through tyres at a ridiculous rate.

Hopefully this helps:
1. Dunlop Q2's (can be had for as little as $200 PER SET)
2. Michelin Power Ones (great tire, pricey though).

Yes, it is confusing and you will find there are any number of riders who will praise each of the tires you have listed. The key is to find a tire that will work for you by trying them YOURSELF! If you're shopping for price, that's easy. Otherwise ride them to find the one you like. You have no idea how the rest of us on this forum ride, and it may be nothing like you ride, so why take our advice? I'd think the other riders who ride hard, and even faster than you, in the fast A group would be the ones to ask.
