Default Tire Pressure gauge recommendations...

Looking for a good quality tire pressure gauge. Just wanted to know what you guys are using? All I have is a run of the mill handheld digi gauge. I see the prices ranging from $10 to a $300 InterComp?

Thanks in advance

William

Per some recommendations of others on this site, I went with a Blue Point: TPRG60, Tire Gauge, Racing

1% accuracy in the middle of the scale, which is where you'd be at.

My current favorite for a shop gauge. On tour, I use the pencils.

Here are some reviews on some gauges:

Okay, so I need some smarter guys to help me out the crafty marketing word play. The digital gauge says simply “1% Accuracy.” The dial type gauge says “Features test gauge like accuracy of 1% in the middle half of scale”. Sounds like its saying the digi gauge is 1% accurate across the entire range? I know this is small beans, I’m just curious.

I personally prefer the digital gauge because if they are accurate they remain that way.If they have a problem they simply do not work and they do not give wrong measurement. The analog gauge need to be calibrated sooner or later.

Good question Tank... not sure of the answer though, except one would assume that 1% in the middle of the range, means that if you get on the high end or low end it would be greater than 1%.

Personally, I've had the digital gauges and they haven't been accurate. But maybe I just bought the wrong ones . However, I would say they are consistent. So even if they are wrong, at least they would be consistently wrong That can be a good thing as you could go and get a calibration done to see how far off it is and then just remember those numbers when you go to use it. Personally, I have too much other stuff to remember, so I just want a good/accurate gauge that I don't have to worry about. So far the Blue Point has been that for me... time will tell I guess.

My preference is an Accugauge at home. Too big for trips, but I don't really trust the stick one's too much, or the digitals.
