Thats carbon-ceramic, not carbon-fiber. Big difference in stopping abilities...

That is correct. They work when cold better than full carbon but still are very high heat resistant.

Add that to BST carbon wheels and you loose many kgrs of rotating mass.I admit that are a bit pricy...

one would never want carbon fiber rotors; even the WSBK guys have a bit of adjusting to them; you have to get on the brakes a little earlier and they don't work when cold.

carbon-ceramic is what works with street applications. 2300 Euros though is pretty damned steep though. $3000 versus what, $2200-ish for Braketech? Although Braketech won't make BMW rotors because of the way BMW mounts the rotor directly to the wheel.

You can do Braketech rotors with BST wheels, but you have to give up the ABS ring.

I suppose you are talking about the WSBK riders that test MotoGP bikes since carbon fiber rotors is banned in WSBK?

yep, or WSBK racers that graduate to MotoGP - a very common comment is that they have to adjust their braking style; I forget who said it this past season - most likely Spies. Weird in a way how top WSBK riders have a hard time adjusting to MotoGP - a factory WSBK bike is usually under 5 seconds slower on a given track - not much difference. But both Fabrizio and Checa (who *did* race MotoGP a few years back) had to come in early because of arm pump. On the other hand, Spies and Edwards made the transition fine...maybe it's a Texan thing

Never ridden a bike with carbon ceramic rotors (which work when cold); cars I've driven (not owned however!) with carbon brakes didn't feel all that different, but braking on a bike is a much more sensitive thing.
