Default Lee's Cycle FINALLY came thru

After some hit and miss on my Ohlins suspension Lee's Cycle finally got me dialed in and the S1000RR performed flawlessly at Fontana this weekend.

Rode four races .....placed 2nd, 3rd, and two 7ths !

Ran Dunlop 7704's and despite the Cold weather had NO cold tearing on the tire....Thanks to Quentin and the boys at Lee's Not to mentipn Jeremy Toye...ooops i guess I did mention him....my suspension seems to finally be where I need it and has pushed me onto the Podium !

Congratulations, your times seemed to improve from your first F1 race to the last in Senior Superbike! Nice to get that comfortable feeling on the bike and see that improvement. Is Randolph still on the KTM? He's obviously still fast.

Randolph will also be racing a S1000RR sponsored by San Jose BMW.

Default KTM

Ya...man he was FLYING !!!!

He's gonna be something on the S1000RR.....cant wait to see that. He made even the fast guys look slow !

Mainly my issues were with the rear TTX Ohlin...said to not be nearly as good as the Bitubo....but nor are the RnT Ohlin forks as good as the ATK Gas Filled Inserts....both being run and and dialed in by Toye, but I went the Ohlins route....maybe a mistake....but I'm not gonna bail out now.

I went from a 10.5 spring on the rear shock to a 9.0 and that seems to have made a WORLD of difference.....with the 10.5 I wasn't getting into the shock at all.....now I am and can feel the course so much better...and make minor adjustments easier. I have always been prety happy with my Ohlin front forks and as I'm learning the front brakes better I'm putting alot more faith in them.

Could got the ATK gas filled front suspension.....they have dropped there price to $1900....which is down considerably from when I made my decision to go Ohlin....but Ohlins has dropped now too.....either way...I'm sticking with Ohlin's now that we are making good progress with them.

Keep in mind that I'm new to racing and not at all what one would consider fast........so don't take what I say to the bank....just MY experience relayed to you ...my fellow BMW'ers ....as best I can.

Congrats on the big improvements.

Are you running the new rear linkage?

That's interesting about the rear spring. I weigh about 220 with gear and also have a new, barely ridden TTX with a 10.5 spring on my S1000RR. Do you mind telling me what you weigh? I feel the spring may be on the stiff side for me, but haven't had it on track yet. Do you think if you had ridden more aggressively that the 10.5 might have worked for you? Did Lee's put a tie wrap on the TTX shaft to gauge travel before you switched to the 9.0?

Default Not at All

I weigh 206lbs and my gear is another 25lbs or so....I wrote about that a month or so back.....

I think the 10.5 is set for a guy who weighs about 220 to 230 plus gear....You'd think 25 lbs isn't a big deal....but apparently it is because I wasn't getting into the suspension at all with the 10.5 spring.

Try the 9.0 or 9.5......probably the 9.5 and I think you'll be alot happier....as I am.
