Default Need some info on Ohlins installation

Doing some research to upgrade, what is the typical time it takes to replace the shock and install the 30 mm kit?

Thanks in advance for the help

shop time is prob gonna be about 4 hours, if you have some one do it, if yourself somewhere between 3-5 hours start to finish, depending on how slow you work how much you double check stuff.

I had internals and shock put on my 2007 R1 about 3 months ago and it was 155 bucks. About two hours plus fork oil.

Guys, I'm an older rider (51), and the S1000RR has gotten more out of me as a rider than any previous sport bike (I've had a few!). Even so, I would be interested in upgrading the fork internals if it will make a difference in my riding.

I don't--and won't--track this bike, but I do ride "aggressively" and our northeast US rural roads are subject to harsh winters, salt, and snowplows. Our road surfaces are not always smooth as I would like!

I'm not interested in more power...yet. Handling and more training are first on my list.

Is the Ohlins upgrade worth it for the dedicated canyon carver?

I have an Ohlins cartridge kit on my K9 GSX-R.
It was TOTALLY worth it. Bike always feels planted. Amazing product.

If you don't have an East Coast resource, I'd recommend Dan Kyle.
He's an Ohlins Wizard...

As for training - California Superbike School was totally worth the time and $$.
They were incredible to work with.
