Default Racetec3's ???

Back tire needs replaced... i see alot of guys talking about different brand names..... is replacing the stock with same brand and spec taking anything away from the bikes potential... meaning is there a tire out there that will allow me to feel any positive diff in riding. I love the traction of the tec3 but wore really quick(center).

thoughts.

I think you will find that for the most part tires are a personal preference. I'm sure you will find a lot of different opinions out here on this subject. However (IMO) if you are wearing out the center (use the bike to commute with little canyon and no track time) you can probably put a good sport tourer tire on you bike and not notice a difference except for the amount of coin left in you pocket and longer tire wear. Otherwise try a few brands and find one that suits you.

well you can start to corner more harder if your not doing that or if your pushed for twisty roads then you can always put it up on a stand 2nd gear tick over wheele turns at a good rpm then hit it with about 60 to 80 grit garnit paper and wear down the sides to help maintain tyre shape it cheating but works ok that way you keep the profile and you still feel like they work for you instead of that flat spot feeling having said that you carnt have good feel great grip and long tyre life its a trade off i know it sucks but i think like this soft sticky tyres = fun and the knowing your can stop fast if you need to = saftey better repace tyres more often than body work or the worst pain and hospital i choose very soft race teck k2 gone quick but then agian never crashed either race tecks kick ass

I personally put about 1500 miles on M5 interacts and did not like them. I love the K3's.

Try the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa's. I am at 17,287 miles right now; I got only 1200 miles out of the Metzelers and have got 4000+ out of my last two sets of DRC's.. They have a dual compound; harder in the middle and really grippy and soft on the edges...

Triple Threat's tire thread is probably where this conversation should go, but here's my experience with tires on this bike: I loved the K3's for summer months...not so good in the cold and wet. I liked the M5's for the winter months. Then last summer, Iwent to Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SC2's DOT which were great on the track but not as good as K3s on the street. For this winter, I went with PP 2CT and I like these better than the M5's. But both are good. Not sure what I'll do for next summer....
