Default Fork Height

For those who have played with fork height, just curious where you've found the most harmony (assume avg track rider w/ stock triple/forks). The new 2012 has geometry changes that shortened wheelbase. The bike came stock at 12mm (4 bars, 3mm each). But I read that it was supposed to come stock at 17mm? So I took this into account, combined it with the shortened wheelbase of the 2012, and raised my forks 8mm to 20mm total. I think this is too much, but am not sure since haven't been to track with new setting. I don't want the front to feel unstable, but I'm not fast enough yet to fully realize small differences. I think I'm going to lower forks back another 3mm so that I'll be at 17mm, any thoughts on where you guys like your setting? (stock setup)??

Well since I have installed the rear Ohlins BM888(standard height) and 30 mm front kit, I positioned the forks at 8mm (Ohlins I think recommends 6mm).I also shortened the wheel base by almost 1cm(+2 rear sprocket). For trackday I believe it all depends on the type of circuit. If it is a tight close circuit then I think a bit more front lowering is ok (maybe 2-3mm more). In open high speed circuits I think that you have to top up the front (also seen it on the Superstock 1000 World championship). On the road now as I have it now its really nice.
