Default Am I alone in this situation?

This is going to seem a bit contradicting but hear me out.

I've been riding for 15 years now and I love my life so much more when I'm on a bike. I've only had one 600 and the rest have been litre's. CBR's and an R1. I love love love love this bike. Ever since buying the bike, she has been all I can think about. The feeling this bike gives me is only comprehensible by other S1K owners. Every second I'm not on the bike, I'm thinking about being on it. Obsessed? Eh, maybe...should you care? No. With that being said, this bike scares the living SSSSHHHHHH outta me. How can something you love so much have such adverse effects on me?

Btw, I'm sleeping with my bike in my bed. LMAO

LOL... that's pretty cool! Your actually making me feel bad. Mine has sat on its stands in the garage under cover unridden since the end of June Quite frankly that's more embarrassing than I thought once I said it out loud Summer seems to have gotten in the way and all my other "free time" has been at the track racing or doing track days (couple R6's for the track).

BTW, have you been to the track before? If not, make an effort to get there sooner than later. It'll help with that fear part and you'll be a much better rider for it (on the street or otherwise).

I've only had 18 track days in my years. I remember every one as if they were yesterday. Of course they were all on the 600. If anything, that time on the track has made me respect the power of the litre's more. Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of what may happen on the bike. Maybe I was a bit unclear or misleading (I've had a couple lol). I'm fearful of what I may want to try with this bike. I literally am fearful or scared because this bike makes me feel bulletproof. As soon as I climb on her, I think I can drive up buildings and on into the sky. Lol I've never experienced anything like this beast. Being on a bike of this caliber makes me question if I have ever really known what riding a true sport bike was.

Ah.... gotcha, my mis-understanding.

Hell take the S1 to the track anyway - it'll be even that much more fun

Lol bro, I wish I could. I had a wicked bad accident 3 years ago and I told myself I'd never push my bike to it's upper limits again. Now I get on the S1K and I'm questioning whether or not I want to keep my word. Only downside is the bike isn't insured on the track, so in all likelihood, she won't ever see a track day. I think I'll be fine with the occasional open throttle run, let the engine breathe and settle back down. Who knows. Maybe I should stop thinking about the bike so much lmao!

Similar boat... had a bad accident almost 2yrs ago. That was actually what got me into the track and doing trackdays and pushing it more (but on the track).... then that led to racing - whole nuther level of excitement there. Just one hit off the pipe and you get hooked. Plus it makes my tendancies on the street much more tame. Not that we won't cut it up and have some fun, but much more tame.

I feel ya on the insurance thing. That's one the key reasons my S1 only saw the track a couple times... then I picked up a couple dedicated R6's for the track. They can be practically thrown away for what I paid for them.

Lol any other bike I've been on can officially be considered a "throw away" bike now compared to the BMW. In all reality, can a 12 or 13K bike be considered a throw away? Until a couple says ago, I would say no. Now? MOST DEFINITELY! lol
